We have constructed in the matrix below in a brainstorming, directors
contributing keywords to it – on the lines of the topic of their symposia. There are nine of symposia (as listed) –
some are rather general and are covering most social work situations from a
certain point (Social Work Theories and Methods, Social Policy, Precariousness),
or they are addressing a special issue in social work (Spirituality, Community
Social Work, Deinstitutionalisation), some are specific for a specific users
group (Children, Children in Conflict with Law, Old Age) – therefore covering
wide enough ground to inform us on the width of issues.
Even though
keywords are abstractions generalising the concrete occurrences and matters,
ones listed below cut across different strata of social work – from politics,
culture and knowledge, social policy down to organisation, procedures and methods, power relations and
life-world of the people. On these
various strata the dynamics of crisis, ethics, movements and innovations are
parallel, but have a different meanings and functions. We will discuss these implications in following blogs. To be continued ...
